Artists who cut it out -- current exhibition at Bellevue Arts Museum

I admit it -- I enjoy cutting up old magazines and books. That's probably one reason I make collages. Because I must work slowly, carefully, without losing focus, cutting can become a meditation.

The Bellevue Arts Museum currently showcases the work of more than 50 artists who explore decorative piercing and cutting -- of paper, metal, organic material, wallpaper, even old tires! The exhibition is called "Cut Up/Cut Out."

I visited the show this week. Here's a taste (click the artist's name below to see more work). If you're in the Seattle area, catch the show before it closes on October 22!
