More postcards, more art

Postcard I received in the iHanna DIY Postcard Swap
I received another batch of postcards this week from artists around the world, part of the iHanna DIY Postcard SwapThe small artworks included old sailors, dangerous fun, abstract doodles, and a butterfly map.

Charlotta sent me not one but 2 cards, all the way from Sweden! I love the contrast of old and new on this one. What jaunty sailor folks!

I want to call the bonus card she sent "babe in the woods." On the back was a timely quote from Picasso: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."

Kit from Minnesota reminded me to "Embrace the unexpected." Looking at her card, I feel like I'm inside one of my lava lamps.

One look at Lynn's card told me that we share a strange sense of humor. She's right -- sometimes art involves danger, at least to your psyche! I follow Lynn's very honest blog at http://sunnyroomart.blogspot.com.

Eleaca from Alaska sent me a cup of warm collage. Isn't the green-blue background serene? Most afternoons I take a cup of tea to my favorite spot and relax with a book on my lap (and sometimes a cat at my side). This card captures that moment.

I count myself lucky to receive a card from Cyndee, also known as "She Who Doodles." It's hard to call this intricate, whimsical design "just" a doodle. I see a gecko in a party hat. Or maybe a medieval knight napping after a joust. Whatever it is, I love it!

I love old maps, and so it seems does Sally Ann from the Isle of Wight. Her uplifting collage says it all.

I'm so glad I took part in this spring's postcard swap. I can't wait for the next round!
