The first one is going to Rhonda, a mail artist I met online. This is the first card I've sent her. I hope she likes it. (The lady on top really did come from an old Nat Geo -- she was part of a strange travel ad.)I've started collecting images of people's backs. They're unexpectedly useful in collages. You have to look for them, though, since they're often on the edge of a photo and not very noticeable.
The kids in the second card were already blue when I found them. The color makes them seem like a memory that the older man in the hat is reliving. That's how it struck me, anyhow.
I made the card background by tearing up pages I had altered using Citrasolv and sanding.
Mail art may be turning into my latest obsession. Stay tuned.
