Here's a small book I made this week in my collage workshop. It started as one single large piece of watercolor paper. It ended up as a feminist-manifesto with a "dos-a-dos" structure.
I'm happy with the way it turned out. I call it "Radiant Womanhood" after one of the spreads.
A dos-a-dos book has two sides -- like square dancers facing in opposite directions. It looks like this.
For the covers, I added paper ribbon wrapped in wire. The women look like they are being held back, even caged.

Each spread features 2 women who appear to be talking to each other, or about each other. The text hints at what their conversation is about.
Nothing was planned -- I let my subconscious make all the decisions. It's more fun that way!
Excellent! I am love with the covers.
ReplyDeleteFun! Love the construction of the book itself, and how it opens up. Very interesting.
