I admit it -- I enjoy cutting up old magazines and books. That's probably one reason I make collages. Because I must work slowly, carefully, without losing focus, cutting can become a meditation.
The Bellevue Arts Museum currently showcases the work of more than 50 artists who explore decorative piercing and cutting -- of paper, metal, organic material, wallpaper, even old tires! The exhibition is called "Cut Up/Cut Out."
