Divine dog collages

This artist book began as a project in my collage workshop. We started by painting and printing on lots of deli paper (the thin, transparent paper used in restaurants). I tore the papers into strips and collaged them onto heavy paper stock.  

The binding is simple -- a Chicago screw in one corner, which enables the "book" to open like a fan. 

On each page, I created a mythical character made of the head of a dog, an anatomical drawing, and a bit of outer space. Each otherworldly pup has a halo and a royal name.
