10 postcards, 5 colors, 1 swap

iHanna Fall Postcard Swap
A few weeks ago, I signed up for the Fall Postcard Swap put on by blogger and artist iHanna. I make 10 postcards to send to other artists around the world and receive 10 in return.

To make it easier, I choose a theme or style. Last year, I combined retro food photos with old buildings. The year before, I paired kitty heads with human bodies.

This year, I tried something more traditional. Following one of the practices in Randel Plowman's classic A Collage a Day, I created monochromatic backgrounds out of scraps of paper and ephemera. For focal points, I took black and white images from old encyclopedias. Captions add a surreal touch.

Do you have a favorite?
